2008 Lecture Series

The Foundation annually sponsors three lectures that are open to the public at no cost. Lectures are on a variety of local history topics. They are held at the East Hempfield Municipal Building, 1756 Nissley Rd. in Landisville at 7:00 p.m. There is ample seating and the room is handicapped accessible. Reservations are not necessary.

This year's remaining lectures are:

  • September 16th – Dr. John K. Kreider, a retired family physician from East Petersburg will speak about being the 8th generation to live on the family homestead.  The farm was deeded from William Penn’s sons, (Thomas, Richard and John).  Dr. Kreider will display memorabilia and has many interesting tidbits to share with  us.

  •  November 18th – History of the Lionel Corporation will be presented by Ted Symonds, owner of Cool Trains, Toys and Hobbies located in Salunga. The Lionel Corporation has been in business for over one hundred years.
