Lecture Number Two LECTURE Number TwoSept. 27th- Dr. James Kendig will present "A Walking Tour of Salunga, Chickies, Texas, and Frog Hollow in 1880 with the U.S. Census Taker." Dr. Kendig's interest in the history and geography of Salunga and the surrounding areas makes him an ideal speaker for those interested in learning more about the greater Hempfield area. His first-hand knowledge combined with a subtle sense of humor is sure to please the audience. Dr. Kendig grew up in Salunga and graduated from Hempfield High School in 1962, where Amos Her was one of his history teachers. He received a B.S. in chemistry from Lehigh University and an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College. He is currently professor of pediatrics and attending neonatologist at the Penn State Children's Hospital at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. |
